THE PRISONERS / Live Report - Sortie 13 (Pessac) / La Grosse Radio

Article by Jason PINAUD for La Grosse Radio

Let's talk a little about exit and in particular about Sortie13, small intimate concert hall in Pessac, in the Bordeaux metropolitan area. This Friday, November 10, he played the trio Sanseverino/Xa Mesa/Jide Jouannic with the opening act, the sixties surf psych group: The Prisoners.

The signature of The Prisoners: taking credits from series from the 60s and 70s to remodel them to their taste.

The rendering? A cleverly crafted garage rock where the themes are recognized but not copied; joyful, powerfully rhythmic and supported by trumpet and trombone. The whole thing gives an exotic mix of rock traveling between decades. Journey between "The Prisoner", "The Avengers" and "The Persuaders", plus compositions of "musical themes" imagined by the group.

Susanne, the only voice on these songs, coming on stage in a 70s space suit to the arranged credits of "Star Trek", bathes us vocalizations like we hear in James Bond soundtracks, and lascivious and sensual yéyé dances like Mata Hari. A real Milanese nightingale if we want to stay in the media of those years. The credits of "Spiderman" never seemed so sexy to us. The group, sometimes surf, sixties or otherwise, creates a great atmosphere. Hear "cosmos 99" in ska version, it puts you in a good mood. The credits of our childhood series revisited with the style of what we listened to as teenagers with a pep and crazy dynamism.

To see absolutely! Guaranteed antidepressant without chemicals!
